What is tuckpointing?

There is a similar form of masonry repair called repointing. This is a complete removal of your chimney’s mortar. Tuckpointing is a smaller, less involved solution whereas repointing is essentially starting over.

There are many benefits to tuckpointing. The most basic of them is that it helps to improve your chimney’s aesthetic.  However, there are also functional reasons to tuckpoint as well.
