The Most Common Masonry Repairs

Tuckpointing
If the mortar between your brick is receding, cracked, crumbling, or riddled with holes from insects or moisture, we can repair it or replace it through a process known as tuckpointing. During this process, we very carefully grind out the mortar, clean the joints, and pack fresh mortar. Although this process may sound relatively simple, it actually requires great skill, patience, and knowledge. If the mortar is not carefully matched in color, composition, and strength, the tuckpointing work will actually make matters worse, both structurally and aesthetically. Mortar matching can take years to master, but we’ve got it down to a science!

Brick Re-Facing
If the brick on your chimney or fireplace is starting to spall and lose its facing, we can remove the individual bricks and replace them with new bricks.
