Why Are Stainless Steel Chimney Liners Are A Good Option?
Chimney liners are typically constructed of clay tiles, aluminum, or stainless steel.
Clay tile liners can serve you for a good while, but they are susceptible to cracking and crumbling due to moisture and temperature changes (freeze-thaw). Likewise, they are not able to handle the acidic byproducts produced by a hot water tank, boiler, or furnace.
Aluminum liners can be great for gas appliances, but unfortunately, they are not safe for use with wood-burning fireplaces, stoves, or inserts.
